New Westminster Hyack Festival Open - 2006
New Westminster Tennis Club hosted their 23rd
Annual Hyack Tournament this year, May 15-28, with 300 players competing in 17 categories.
The event is the first tournament of the Odlum Brown Summer Series.

second photo on the left, 6-3; 6-3.

beating Khristina Blajkevitch, 6-3; 6-1, in the final.

Last week the rains came and went and came again, and forced organizers to move the
final day's matches (just the open categories) indoors to the Pacific Resort Racquet Club in Richmond.
Tony Macken and Jerry Turek, the winners of last year's double event, beat Jeremy Salvo
and Kris Santoso, 1-6; 7-5; 6-4, to win the Men's Open Doubles.

Due to the rain, the conclusion of the remaining categories continued through June 2 in
Town & Country Tennis Club.
